Evia Capital Partners Pte Ltd (Evia) is a private equity firm that focuses on delivering their clients with consistent returns and long-term value. We achieve this by employing stringent and systematic analyses of potential investments, evaluating their management and undertaking due diligence before incorporating them into our portfolios.
Evia was founded in 2004 by Mr Ng Tee Khiang and Mr Low Kiam Cheow, our founders who were from a preeminent venture capital firm in Asia. Predating his time in Venture TDF, Mr Low was the former National Science and Technology Board (NSTB) divisional head co-managing a US$1 billion Technopreneurship Innovation Fund which were invested in three start-up companies that Mr Ng successfully co-founded. Two exited via trade sale to Fortune 500 companies, another was the first Internet company to list in Singapore. All three companies exited within 5 years of setup. Mr Ng and Mr Low subsequently joined Venture TDF, a venture fund established by the Singapore government. It is such investment and entrepreneurial experience that has seen to Evia’s steady growth over the years.
Currently, our team of 12 is managing a portfolio worth in excess of $150 million and growing. Most of our investors and existing partners have built lasting relationships with Evia not just because we place our clients’ first, but that we have established a proven track record since day one. In addition, our fund, EGO III, has allowed Evia to become one of a privileged few to receive the Preferred Provider rating by Mercer (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Evia also received the approval to commence business as a Registered Fund Management Company (‘RFMC’) by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (‘MAS’) in April 2013.
Our vision is to be the leading fund management firm in Asia, providing our partners and investors access to investment opportunities with long-term value and consistent returns.
Evia Capital Partners believes in placing the interests of our partners and investors ahead of the firm, while undertaking every possible measure to maintain dependable investment opportunities that meet all ethical and professional standards within the industry.
Evia’s aim is to consistently generate above average returns for our partners and investors. To achieve such demanding goals, Evia has built a strong team of strategic advisors who provide industry insights into our investments. In addition, Evia conducts systematic and thorough research on all aspects of our Funds. For instance, we look at entrepreneurs and companies with proven track records, proven technology, clear exit visibility and several other factors that influence the performance of a potential investment. Other aspects we focus on include the stage of growth, the geographic focus and the sector of a company, keeping the perimeters of the fund well within the areas of expertise of our founders – Ng Tee Khiang and Low Kiam Cheow – while meeting the return requirements of the fund.
In addition to meticulous research and analyses of companies included in our Funds, Evia adopt a very hands-on approach and utilise their personal networks to obtain qualified proprietary investment leads for our Funds. High quality listed companies with excellent growth potential are chosen only after Evia has verified their background through reliable information sources. In cases where companies are in their early stages, additional effort is taken to justify any potential investments to be made. Our investment approach also includes following a strict set of criteria, investment monitoring and a stringent approval process to maintain the highest integrity of investment opportunities.
